This tiny breakout board for TI’s DRV8833 dual motor driver can deliver 1.2 A per channel continuously (2 A peak) to a pair of DC motors. With an operating voltage range from 2.7 V to 10.8 V and built-in protection against reverse-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature, this driver is a great solution for powering small, low-voltage motors.
Pin descriptions:
Pin | Description |
IN1 | Motor Input 1 |
IN2 | Motor Input 2 |
IN3 | Motor Input 3 |
IN4 | Motor Input 4 |
VCC | 3-10V Input voltage |
GND | Ground/min |
OUT1 | Motor Output 1 |
OUT2 | Motor Output 2 |
OUT3 | Motor Exit 3 |
OUT4 | Motor Exit 4 |
EEP | Sleep (pin) |
ULT | Fault pin (low if problem) |
Note: If you want to use the EEP (Sleep) pin, you may have to desolder the soldered connection J2. This standard solder bridge can be present and ensures that the module does not go into sleep mode by default. (If you do not want to use the EEP pin and do not want to connect it, then you need to solder J2. You can also connect the EEP pin to the VCC for continuous operation.
