The Digilent PmodIA provides users with a way to measure the electrical impedance of a circuit. It is powered by the Analog Devices AD5933, a high precision impedance converter system solution that combines an on-board frequency generator with a 12-bit, 1 MSPS, analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The two SMA connectors provide easy access to the AC voltage output and the incoming frequency response, allowing users to measure impedances ranging from 100Ω – 10MΩ. By communicating with the Pmod through the I²C interface, users may program the Pmod to perform a frequency sweep across a circuit in order to calculate the impedance.
